Going into dentures armed with as much information as you can get your hands on will help ease this transition. There is no easy way to do this. There will be both physical and emotional pain but with support and patience you can get through it. First off you need to get on the same page with the dentist in all respects.

This means he has to provide you with a written plan including all of the prices, a schedule of how and when the work will be done, follow up care and your ability to be seen when you feel you need to be. Also, if you can find someone who has dentures to have some discussions with. If you can't find someone- I will help you as much as I can.

You also need a good support system at home, don't be afraid to share your thoughts and feelings with those close to you. Explaining to them what you going through will help them support you. The better they understand it the better you understand it.

Feel free to contact me off the board at compassrose313@yahoo.com

I have had mine almost 15 years.
