Cindy, your self diagnosis of vanity may not be the case. You may be more afflicted by another malady called lack of trust in people combined with low self esteem and some normal apprehension. Look, I have had an upper denture for over 50 years and I have never had the problems you fear including Navy barracks at age 18 when I had the extractions. My experience has been that most people do not care one way or another about it, romance included and close friends and family are understanding. An upper denture is probably the easiest to get used to and the look is best to match. Suggest practicing speaking in privacy and you will be surprised how fast u can make the ajustment. Most important in my opinion is to get a good fit for digestive health reasons. You will be o.k. Best regards, Alan
