Hi Linda, It's really difficult to say why you're still having pain. It could be that the tooth was infected. Hopefully by now the antibiotics have helped with that? I've had numerous root canals so I know what you're going through, but I've never suffered from pain after going through one. My only advice would be to try and seek a second opinion. Just because your dentist referred you to that particular endodontist doesn't mean you have to stick with him Perhaps try asking around for a recommendation? I strongly believe that every person should be under the care of a dentist who answers all of their questions and makes them feel comfortable... sometimes it just takes some effort until you find the right person.
