Looking for info on choosing a Cosmetic Dentist?

crown over abutment-difficult to find dentist

I'm really confused and hopefully someone can explain this to me. I'm having difficulty finding a dentist under my insurance plan that will do a crown over an abutment. My OS placed my implant in June. I'll be ready for the crown by January. I thought that this would be like any crown procedure but it's not. Why won't a general dentist do this and how can I explain this to my insurance company so they will cover this out of network?
