    I have many crowns in my mouth and I have only had a problem once which was due to the dentist I was seeing at the time. The actual procedure is not any more painful than getting a cavity filled as you are locally anaesthetized. If I were you though, I would consider veneers over crowns unless your teeth have been severly worn away where veneers would not be a suitable treatment.
