Looking for info on choosing a Cosmetic Dentist?
full mouth extraction and immediate full dentures
Posted by Val on 9/12/2009, 3:25 am
I have an 18 year old daughter who had an acci dent on monday at dinner. The two front upper teeth broke. we went to the dentist and she came with a terrible message. She had bone loss and the teeth were very thin and the best would be a full mouth extraction and dentures or implants. The cause of this was tha our daughter has had bullemia wihout us knowning and all the vomoting had totally destroyed the teeth. She is not at all excessivly thin or have any obvious signs of this as we could have discovered.
So we have had two other dentist to look at her and both said the same.
We cannot afford anything near implants and the dentist told that that could be applyed at a later stage in life.
She is devastated losing all teeth at 18 and extremely ashamed and told she cannot meet her friends having dentures and also the dating she could not continue with. So I write here to ask if there are other very young people having had to get dentures at this age.
I told her that surely she is not the only girl to get full dentures.
I hope there can be some comments to her that can calm her.
Next week is the e day
