Hi, mickiys . . .
I'm not a dental professional, so can't tell you why your teeth hurt; but have heard that extensive work of the type you have described can traumatize the teeth. (To a a lesser degree, I've experienced it myself after having even a single filling replaced, though eventually it cleared up on its own.)
In severe cases, however . . . especially if the pain continues unabated for more than as few days, it may signal the need for root canal therapy. In fact, it's my understanding that's one reason some dentists advise against such wholesale replacement of silver fillings.
Your message did not mention why you had those fillings replaced — but if it was out of concern that the mercury in your old fillings were toxic, you may have been either hoodwinked or misinformed. Although that story was circulated years ago, it has since been disproven. In fact, current thinking by those who oppose replacement is that leaving such fillings undisturbed exposes patients to less risk than "breaking" open and having miniscule particles of mercury flying around the mouth (even with a dam in place to catch them.)
As I've mentioned, I think I recall having had at least one single filling replaced in the past — but it involved a a very old filling that had cracked over time. Since it had to be removed anyway, it made sense to refill the tooth with resin. But due to the depth of the the filling, even that took a while for my tooth to heal. Luckily for me, however, in general, my dentist and I agree on the old saying: If it don't broke, don't fix it.
As for that bad taste in your mouth, if it does not end soon, you might want to have your dentist check to see that you don't have an infection brewing under that new resin filling.
