Bonding Appearance
Posted by Marsha on 10/6/2009, 8:36 am
I had a rectangular-shaped chip come out of one of my front teeth. My dentist used bonding material to repair it. The color is GREAT. I'm very pleased with that. However, when I look very closely, I can see an edge or line where the bonding material ends and my natural tooth begins. It is not noticeable from a "conversational" distance. My questions: Is that a normal appearance for a bonded tooth? In other words, is that normal limitation to bonding? Also, why didn't the dentist just extend the bonding material all the way to the top of the tooth so that the margin wouldn't be visible?
