I have had my resin fillings since 2004 with no problems of them falling out. Also have a few old amalgams which have never fallen out. A friend of my had fillings fall out shortly after they were put in. I would blame the dentist & look for one with the required skill. I would not pay double for inferior work either. If you paid by credit card, you may have some recourse concerning the bill.
