Come to think of it, your right. I seem to recall that it was difficult for my dentist to actually remove one crown I had on with temp cement. It was a back molar and we left it on temp until the tooth settled down so that we didn't have to drill through the crown for a root canal. I guess some of those "temp" cements are really strong.
