Gagging on my new dentures

I just got new dentures . they do not fit very well and my dentisit is trying hard to fix it. My biggest problem is that I can not get them in my mouth . I can do top or bottom but when I try to put both sets in it makes me gag and vomit.
HELP !! I have been 3 weeks with no teeth in my mouth -- I have to learn to wear these things .
