Gums Not Healing
Posted by PJ on 10/22/2009, 11:28 pm
Help! I've been reading through posts and not seeing anyone talking about gums that won't heal. I've brought this up before but can't find the post now.
I had all my uppers removed on 7-31, then a "new growth" on my upper left removed 4 weeks later. Overall my gums are just to sore to use my dentures for even the softest foods. The upper left still hurts when I just mash Cream-of-Wheat against the roof of my mouth with my tongue.
Yes, I have diabetes, but I've been taking care of my mouth and my dentures, and started using a mouthwash - biotene - with aloe vera that is made for people with gum sores, etc.
I am still using the first set of temporary dentures with sea Bond to keep them from slipping and ate one meal successfully yesterday. But today I could barely keep them in for a couple of hours and the gums are sore to the touch of my tongue again.
Help please!!!!!
