Don't feel bad that you are 20 and need a bridge. I have needed a bridge or implant since I was 16 years old. I am finally having my bridge done on Tuesday and I am now 27. I too am feeling afraid of the proceedure but I know that I have to do it now or things could get worse. Unfortunately, dental work is always very expensive. I do have insurance, it's not the best insurance, but I am still going to have to pay $1000.00 dollars. And that's after my insurance pays $1000.00. All I am getting is a three unit bridge to replace 1 missing tooth. I know that many dentists will make payment plans. You could look into that. Or maybe do some research in your area and see if there are any programs available to you to help with the expense. I know dental issues can be scary, but try to calm down and figure out all of your options. I will be thinking of you, and hope that you find answers.
