Looking for info on choosing a Cosmetic Dentist?

Like Michelle, I also received synthetic bone, which was placed at the same time my tooth was extracted; however in my case, because I received an immediate loading implant, the temporary abutment and temporary tooth also were placed at the same time.
It (as well as prepping for crowns on the three adjacent teeth was all done with just a combination of topical and injected novacaine (or an anesthetic from the same "family"
.
If I were you, Kim, I would ask my dentist why s/he prefers a general anesthetic. e.g., If your dentist intends to harvest bone from your body (e.g., your hip) that might explain his use of a general anesthetic. But unless there is something unusual about your case or your personal health, it's hard to understand why s/he would resort to a general anesthetic — especially since it usually requires special training and certification to use it.
Personally, If other options are available, I believe there are good reasons for avoiding general anesthetic aside from cost. .
