Hey Patti, don't give it another thought !.
I can't tell you how many times I've had to inform some people of how the Social Security Disability and Supplemental Security Income programs "actually" work and how their funded, where those funds come from and who is and is not eligible to receive them ? (at least I learned something .. in those 5 years of waiting).

I've had people take one look at me and their first thought is: "well they don't look sick, they just must be lazy" ?. Even though, I myself, carry a pain level of about 2-3 constantly .... it never lets up. Then, if they see me speak, they get to thinking that maybe I'm a "drug-addict" ... from the looks of my teeth !!.

I don't mind telling folks that I'm disabled ... now (I used to be to embarrassed too !) and I actually don't mind to much, letting them know that I receive benefits ..... but I usually never state the amount ? ...... and that post from wondering is the reason why ?.

But, getting back to teeth ! .... I am going to do some research here on the net, around Springfield, Mo and see if there are any dental specialists that can see me, given my situation, and just see what they can do ?. Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky and find one that will help me out and just maybe I too can have implants or maybe snaps to hold a denture in place ?.
