I'm with you on this one.

I certainly would not pay an bill that large without an itemized list of the charges it covered.

As for the teeth never having been delivered, you might want to look around for any agreement your father may have signed or regarding total cost, terms of payment, etc. (including if it was to be paid in stages or C.O.D.

If the former, who knows? Maybe your father was required to pay the pro-rated cost at each appointment while the work was being done.

If C.O.D. . .. obviously, the dentist never did fulfill his end of the contract . . .and if it took him a year to bill for the work, it was hardly timely.

Finally, if he never did deliver the dentures, who's to say they ever were even made? . ..or that he paid the lab anything, in order to have them deliver them?

Lots of unanswered questions . . . Until they are (to your satisfaction), I wouldn't pay a dime (though I might consult an attorney — both to confirm my rights as a consumer . . .and possibly for a letter demanding that he stop harrassing you).
