Looking for info on choosing a Cosmetic Dentist?
Posted by cs on 1/12/2012, 10:52 am, in reply to "Re: How long between removal and bridge?"
After many years, I eventually had to have a top central incisor removed. Recommended options at the time included either a bridge or an implant.
I chose an Immediate-Loading implant, which was a relatively new concept at that time, but I had confidence in the dentist offering it, because I knew he had almost 20 years of general implant experience. I also appreciated the fact that only the affected tooth would be affected, with no involvement of the adjacent teeth to support a bridge.
The name is a bit of a misnomer, because it actually took about a month of monitoring and scheduled adjustments before the permanent crown was placed, but I left the office with a great-looking temporary crown after the same appointment in which the failing tooth was extracted.
That all happened in the summer of 2003, and so far I've never had a problem with my "new tooth."
