My experience was the same as Cathy's: an apicoectomy to take care of a failed root canal, just around the same time hers was done. and like Cathy, I still have that tooth. I guess you could say it's on it's third crown (I received a new one after the apic . . .and that one was replaced (at least 15 years later) after I bit into a piece of dried fruit and it fell off. The replacement has been fine ever since.
