I haven't had your same problems but I do have a root canal & crown. I Wont have it much longer. I am getting a full denture. I have had nothing but trouble with my crown. I've had it since I was about 9. I would say pull it and get a partial. They say they are temporary but they last longer then temporarily. It will end a lot of headaches for you. Discuss this with your dentist and see what other options you may have. I am getting a full denture on top soon. I can find out the 24th if it is going to be next month ot in july. If you have a denture I would like to hear from you as well. I am sorry I aint more help to you.
