Looking for info on choosing a Cosmetic Dentist?

Hi beverly.
congrats with new dentures.
Yes, it is quite normal to build up the dentures to compensate for facial deficiencies. Many cosmetic dentists call facelifts without surgery.
I have had full dentures for 7 years and got a new set a year ago and the dentist told me about this and put on slightly more plastic on specific places.
If they only make the dentures slim and only to fit the gums and have a good bite we will get a sort of sunken look (denture look ) with time, she said.
She also told that its much easier to control the denures with the muscles and avoid adhesives much longer.
This is not really a problem for me now as I am 25 , but may be later in life.
good luck
