How disappointing. Sorry you had to go thru that — especially after apparently asking all the right questions.

The first question that came to mind for me was "What did your dentist say when you told him you were dissatisfied with the way they look?"

It's also difficult to guess what the last part of your message means, in which you state that you wrote a letter (to whom?) . . . and have a follow-up (what kind of follow-up . . . second letter in reserve? . . . or appointment scheduled to discuss your concerns with your dentist?).

If, as it sounds in your message, that he does not intend to take any steps to improve their appearance of your veneers, the first thing I would do if I were you, is pull out the treatment plan,consent form, or any other document you probably signed agreeing to have the work done.

If it mentions a workmanship guarantee of some sort, that's where I would start. i.e., I would use it to start a discussion with my dentist to confirm what is covered.

Since it looks like you might have a rocky road ahead of you, I also would start a journal immediately, documenting the date of every contact I had with my dentist, as well as a summary of the discussion. (It's a lot easier to remember events soon after they occur than months later!)

If you can't make any headway with your dentist, they also will be helpful if you have to seek help from outside resources (e.g., the local chapter of the american dental association (which may be willing to arrange a review of the work by your dentist's peers) . . .your local Better Business Bureau (which may be willing to act as an intermediary between you and your dentist ) . . .or your local or state licensing department, which documents complaints.
