Looking for info on choosing a Cosmetic Dentist?

I'm scheduled for an implant next month, but as I've written before I was told by several dentist I have bone loss. The one dentist who did my other implant in 1998 said the bone will grow back. The dentist I was at today for just a cleaning said that's not possible. He kept saying I had lost two teeth on the one side, but I only lost one. I guess he was referring to my wisdom tooth I was told years ago needed to come out. Is having a wisdom tooth removed the same as losing a tooth; I've heard they really aren't needed although I guess they are or we wouldn't have them? My wisdom tooth wasn't infected, the dentist who took it out said I kept building up a lot of plaque there and it would be better to remove it.
I don't know what else to do other than just hope this new implant is going to work. I hate to go through all I'll have to go through and not have it work. It's strange the one who is going to do it said he doesn't believe in putting in a foreign substance & the bone will grow back. I don't see how that can happen either.
The two crowns I got from another dentist recently cost me only $500.00 a piece. The dentist who cleaned my teeth told me you get what you pay for, and the crowns are probably made from cheap material. I hope that's not the case. I have a headache from all of this. I told him I may end up having to go to Mexico for dental work as someone I know does that; he then claimed they use cheap materials there too. It's hard for me to trust any of these dentist. I trust the implant one the most since the one he did is still in there. That didn't seem to prove too much to the one who did the cleaning today. I only went back to him because he charges way less for cleanings. I'm practically bankrupt from how much I've had to spend at these dentist.
