Temp bridge

I am having a bridge made for my lower front teeth. I went to the first visit where he ground down the 2 teeth on each side to prep for the perm. bridge. My question is, should I be having nerve pain a week after this has been done? I expressed to him when he put the temp one on that I had the pain but he did not seem concerned and now, it seems to be getting worse. I can generally tolerate pain well but when it comes to my teeth it seems to be unbearable. Just seems like an awful lot to pay to be in this much pain.
