Looking for info on choosing a Cosmetic Dentist?

OUCH!!
Nothing like a toothache on a post-holiday weekend, is there, TempBridge?
It may be a little too soon to tell if the pain you are experiencing is typical or not. Sensitivity is not uncommon when teeth are prepped for a crown, and how long it lasts may/may not be related to the individual's tolerance to that kind of discomfort.
But if Ibuproen or other over-the-counter/home remedies don't help within the next few days, I probably would check with my dentist for further guidance.
[Though I hate to suggest it, prepping for crowns also is known to traumatize teeth . . . to the point of sometimes requiring a root canal — which is why (depending on the situation) implants often are considered a better option. ]
For now though, I probably would just wait . . . watch . . . and if home treatments don't help, I would contact my dentist next week. On the other hand, if the pain becomes unbearable, I certainly would call my dentist's office sooner (most arrange for coverage of emergencies when their office is closed) or go to the closest emergency room.
