Looking for info on choosing a Cosmetic Dentist?
Posted by Barbara on 7/27/2012, 6:18 am, in reply to "dentures"
The dentist can fit immediate dentures in most cases. They add extra expense to the process but are so worth it to help maintain self esteem. It sounds like you might have some insurance issues to deal with in getting your new smile paid for if it is going to take 6-8 for paper work to be processed.
4 months without teeth is a long time but as the other poster replied, a considerable amount of healing takes place and the gums toughen up and are better able to tolerate the dentures without a lot of adjustment. There are pros and cons to both processes. Talk to your dentist about the self esteem issues.
