Dear Steve,
My great grandmother was a Stech. I have been researching and I believe she had a brother named Ladislav, but it must have been a common name, as there is another Ladislav Stech in the census records whose dates don't correspond to anything I know.
Do you live in the Cleveland area? Then come down and visit Bohemian National Hall, and the Czech Cultural Center of Sokol Greater Cleveland on E. 49th and Broadway. You will find a wealth of information about Czechs in Cleveland there.
Sincerely,
Sally Stepnicka McGowan
