Posted by Bradford Kral A little photo-investigation on the tombstone. It is in German, the dececed is Wilhelm , 18 yr-old son, buried in 1905 from what may have been a hunting accident (gunshot wound). In that it appears Gr. Gr. Grandmother is pregnant and three surviving children immigrated, she is pregnant with either Mary or if Mary is standing with another relative she may be pregnant with "Billy", which, if was named for his dead older brother and father could explain his studdering and shyness. Gr. grandpa was an S.O.B. If it is "Billy" the cemetary may be in Bremen, Germany, the port of departure.

: I have come across an old photo from 1895 of
: my Gr.Gr.Gr. Grandfather's internment. The
: "fotograf" was taken by "H.
: Taul or Tauk", professional
: photographer. Wilhelm is buried in a plot
: behind a marker #114 in a cemetary unknown
: to me somewhere in either Bohemia or
: Germany. Since the sirname is Bohemian I
: suspect the former. The monument is an
: obelisk 8 to 10 feet high. At the top is a
: portrait and an engraved bird's flight
: feather.
:
: Does anyone recognize the image of 20
: "very stern" individuals around
: the grave site? 5 women, one young girl,
: one teenage girl, three young boys, three
: older(50-ish) men and one dude in a military
: or police uniform (fourth from the right).
: The rest of the men appear to be in their
: 20's or thirties. The style of dress seems
: to be respectable but I'm no expert on the
: dress code of 1895!
:
: Does anyone have a clue? Thanks!
