I don't know a lot about my ancestry, except that somewhere along the way they passed through Iowa and ended up in northeastern North Dakota, in a small village of Czech people called Vesleyville. My paternal grandfather was Frank Houdek, and his wife's family name was Shanilec. Could my grandfather Frank Houdek be your grandfather's brother Frank? My grandfather Frank died in 1970. He farmed in Walsh County near Vesleyville.
