I really like the cut ears and docked tail look. What are the pros and cons of doing this? Will it hurt show or competition eligibility? How old can the dog be? I have not done any yet, just looking for some feed back. Steve

Give me a call when you have time..
Most registries don't like cut tails or ears. They consider them a cosmetic Fault..
The Pros of having Ears Cut are,
My Vet use to say that Cut ears are better for dogs not getting ear infections.
I asked him to explain because I was always under the impression that the ears covered the ear cannel so it kept it clean and dry.
He said its the Opposite. For Infection the Best environment is a Damp Moist covered one..
Makes sense..I guess??
At shows Judges want to see if ear's are Rose,Flapped or Bat Ears etc.. That's why they don't like cut ear's..
Have you ever seen Bat ears on a AB?
Strange looking!
As Far as Tails
We talked about that If you can Find it on the Pages below if not to summarize,
A Cut Tail wont hit you in the Nad's when it is wagging or Knock drinks off a coffee table.lol
Some like the Look..I appreciate Both Looks.
On Tails they want to see if its Curled,Kinked,
Straight,loop de loop,High over the back,Feathered
or curled under its @$$..They want to see what its doing.
If you Like the Old School look then make your self Happy..
Some Vets wont cut a tail or ears after a certain age.. Some could care less. Its really up to the Vet.
I hope things are well with you..
Give me a Call..
