"Pete looks just like MOW. If you don't believe me, ask Tommy or Obie."
Several years ago when the subject was discussed indepth on TG, no photo of any dog named Man O War could be produced. It is strange that a dog that is claimed to be a legend from the 1980's has no photos. Colby dogs from the turn of the century have photos. Now...of course, any photo could be labled MOW after the fact, and presto...there you go. Not exactly what I call compelling, or credible evidence.

I am not basing my conclusions entirely on the C.C. story. Gereald himself has a little known collaborating story. I have a video where Gerald states he got Doc's Pete from a man in Patriot Indiana. C.C. lived in Patriot Indiana at the time. The silver brindle color, and other characteristics are a perfect fit. How many dog breeders from Patriot Indiana from that time period do you think fit that profile? The population of Patriot Indiana is around 200 people.
Yes, "Landshark...hot temp...???" None of Doc's Pete's other offspring possessed the kind of temperments Vader, Dixie and other Landshark off spring did. The process of extrapolation reveals the source. Gerald himself also claimed Landshark to have a hot temp.
