I have a 3 yr old bulldog who has had for quite some time now a bit of a "waddle" in their gait -especially after heavy exercise or when 1st getting up after laying down. I had a vet appt yesterday and after x-rays, it turns out they have mild-moderate hip dysplasia. My vet said there isn't too much to be done - told me to put them on glucosamine/chondroiten supplement long term. He also gave me "Deramaxx" to use on days when the dog seems to hobble more then usual. Anyone ever have any similar issues with their dogs? Or suggest a particular supplement/diet that might help with this condition?
