to answer part of your question dave, i dont have a answer to the hip problem. as far as i know no breed of dogs has found the answer except in sight hound breeds.to me the hip issue is clear as mud.do you test by ofa, by pennhip, by vets or by the dogs either breakin down or not breakin down. heck ive owned dogs of different breeds and for different uses for well over 35 years and up untill i got into these silly abs i never tested hips thru xrays.i have never known a hog hunter or a pit dog guy that does either. im not sayin xraying hips is a bad thing i just do not have a clear understanding of the hip issue, not matter what anyone says.
