I'm not an expert on Williamson dogs.But I wish I was. He was around a little before my time in the breed. I believe most that were in contact with him were less then one hundred percent honest in the past. And that name may have ended up on peds dishonesty.
But I did do my best to cut through as much BS as I could.
I have seen examples of both types in Williamson dogs.
It just seems (Imo) that the blockier ones were sometimes better known or sometimes sort after . My opinion is probably because they were blocky or added blockyness without using the downsides of Johnson blood.
The interesting thing is that ,
early Stover dogs are said to be down off of Williamson stuff.
Show me a picture of a Southern farmer wearing scratch pants and a sleeve and then I will believe you when you say these dogs were originally bred for bite work.
