If they were to be the original bulldogs from england unchanged why call them American Pit Bulldogs ?
My guess is because the name English bulldog was already taken.lol !
They could of used Ol Southern white or White English. But those names were being used down south already. I believe they used the name American (pit)bulldog because the name sounded fresh. Different sounding to set there breed apart.Registering them and showing them set them apart from other southern bulldogs and made them worth more.
