I linked over here from Carl's forum, thanks to JB(MS). I picked up a real good condition gold colored Treasure Baron Gold trax last night and I am just now starting to play with it. As far as I can tell, it works great when I turn it on and it starts in factory preset.
The problem I am having is, I have read so much info on settings for the Gold trax, that my eyes are starting to glaze over and I am getting bald spots from scratching my head trying to understand how the switches, push pads, and knobs work togeather. I just now realized that the knobs not only turn, but also can be pushed, which means that it is turning something on and turning the knob after pushing it is increasing something?
Could someone please give me some tips on how to start out, I am not talking baby steps here folks, I am trying to crawl. I know when you first turn on the Gold trax, it starts in the factory preset mode. First question is how does it pinpoint? do you have to push the toggle switch, or just flip it to the center position.
I have used a lot of metal detectors, but I am having a tough time wrapping my mind around these settings.
