The modules will slide into the Cobra II housing but they won't work with the Cobra. The main board is different, in addition to not having receptacles for the ribbon cables the modules use to connect to the base unit board there are different components on the board. It's not hard to add pots for manual ground balance and threshold adjust on the Cobra II, with that done it's pretty much the same as the Prohunter module except for the LED intensity meter and the capability to accept rear modules. My A&S Special is the same detector as a Cobra II, with the added GB and threshold pots it gets excellent depth and is great for coin hunting. I keep a 5.5 coil on it and actually use it more than I do my other Barons.
