.....that seems the most likely cause, the medications I was taking to control my blood pressure. Back in the late 90's, they increased the strength of my meds to controll blood pressure. That worked good for years untill a little over 2 years ago I started getting these dizzy spells when changing body positions. It wasnt noticiable on blood pressure tests unless you tested while sitting and then immediately stood up and re-tested. It just seems like something changed in my body and suddenly I didnt need such strong medicine to controll my blood pressure any more. At any rate, cutting way down on the strength of medications PLUS taking weaker doses TWICE a day seems to be working for me. These are LA (long acting) medications supposed to time release and last 24 hours a day but in my case the weaker doses taken twice a day is working real good for me. With me constantly monitoring my sitting/standing blood pressure and working with a good nurse and doctor, we experimented untill we had the right medications and twice a day applications.
Some medications have a secondary effect on blood pressure. In my case, right in the middle of mine and the doctors attempts to regulate my blood pressure, anothe doctor prescribed Flomax for a prostrate problem. Flomax side effect is to lower blood presssure and it knocked the heck out of me and screwed up all the progress the doctor and I had made before. It was back to the drawing board untill we could come up with the right combination of medications.
