.....I was just wondering if there was a trimmer that would effect the auto-tune speed. Maybe it would increase the depth of the AM mode. Im sitting here wondering why I never did make a real careful test to determine for sure how much depth difference there was between no auto-tuning and real fast autotune. My goldtrax is still kaput. I keep putting off getting it repaired since I cant physically detect much anymore anyway. I know I never liked real fast autotuning in most hunting conditions and you too mentioned that the SST tuned too fast for your liking. When autotuning gets so fast that you cant size and shape a target with the AM mode, thats just too fast for me. My "other" favorite detector, the Nautilus IIb, allows me to turn the auto tune completely off and thats where I hunted with it the vast majority of the time. If I get up enough energy to dig a deep enough hole I will try to do some tests with the Nautilus tomorrow.
