Hunted about an hour this afternoon on the east side of the old football field, just across the street from where I found the Barber dime a few days ago. Found a few clad and pennies with the SST, then switched to the Goldtrax. Got the smushed penny with it, was in the process of throwing it away with the trash when I noticed lines on it that turned out to be the columns of the Lincoln Memorial. Jim has found several flattened pennies but that's only my second one. The bullet was deep, at least 6 inches down and right at the edge of the Goldtrax's depth range with the widescan coil, it gave a weak all metal mode signal and just barely a click in disc mode with the audio knob set to max. Dug another that gave the same signal less than a foot away, but left several more identical signals that were within a couple of feet. Evidently someone dropped part of a box of .22 long rifle bullets before the football field was built.
