Good hunt Kevin, those big Queen Vicky cents are neat finds
. I still like the CZ's, made a lot of good finds with them and as I posted a couple of weeks ago, I would still be using them if not for Jbird. My wife is having some medical problems and I can't get far from home but I got out for awhile yesterday afternoon. A friend told me I needed to hunt a triangle area that's about 60 yards long by 40 yards on the wide end here in town where three streets run together He said when he was a kid back in the 1950's that was the neighborhood playground and he knew there were silver coins lost there because he lost some. He also said the city had put some fill dirt on it but not a lot. I put the 10 inch coil on the Cointrax to get a little more depth and hunted it, or tried to. Evidently it had also been the neighborhood trash dump. There wasn't much of anything in the top four inches except a few tabs, below that was a layer of gravel a couple of inches thick and under the gravel it was solid junk. Nonstop iron staccato, other than the shallow tabs the only decent signals were a couple of old screw off tops from the 10 inch range. Stopped by the old football field on the way home and got a few new coins, the plated happy birthday bangle and the Ole Miss badge, or whatever it is, from the University of MS.
