I like to read posts like that. There are not many people around that seem to care about "what was once there, or what was done there".
Once a site goes to forest, it's hard to imagine an active commercial spot existed or even find much evidence.
I just found out from a friend of my son, of a place on their adjacent property. It was supposed to be a Pipe Organ factory
. One of big hurricane floods, maybe 1938, changed the course of the river and the mill lost it's water power forever and closed. My kid saw line shafts and machinery there, and some structure remains. I hope to get there this season.
