Hi Eric,
Congrats with you recent Baron purchase, I'm not too familiar with the Millennium baron only that it similar with the older CoinTrax modules and is lighter...Plus, I think you can upgrade to the newest CoinTrax chip and please someone jump in and correct me on this if it can't?
As far as comparing performance between the Millennium baron and (Compass machine) I take it you mean the Compass GoldScanner then each have features and performances that differ from the other but as far an ID machine both ID targets equally.
For gold jewelry detecting I prefer the Cointrax all-metal feature, You can adjust the all-metal audio so iron signals give a staccato sound and non-ferrous a solid audio.
For coin shooting both are about equal only the Millennium baron will detect deeper and has notch and other adjustable features not found on the GoldScanner Pro.
For relic detecting using disc mode in mineralized ground or trashy areas full of iron then the GoldScanner would have an edge over the Cointrax, The other two modules (Pro-hunter and Goldtrax) would do well under these type of soil conditions.
Recently, I am finding the CoinTrax all-metal feature opening up new territory for recovering coins and jewelry from fresh water lakes and rivers, Part of the success comes from the all-metal audio alerting me it's iron or a possible good target to dig without the constant monitoring of an ID screen or LED.....With the GoldScanner Pro, You visually need to check the analog meter for every target (ferrous and non-ferrous) when using all-metal which can become annoying in trashy areas full of iron.
Well, I think my post tend to drag on so I'll stop here.
