Thanks JB for providing the link on Mr. Yancy's property, Very interesting post and enjoyed every word of it.
It does make sense when the war ended and right after the plantation slaves were released one or a few may have went back and dug up the silverware, That may account for the two box not detecting the silverware. Still, Wonderful site to detect just knowing the families silverware was buried there so it wouldn't end up in Union soldiers hands.
The $20,000 supposedly still there would be a neat find, Maybe someday in the future you'll be able to arrange another stab at locating the cache. Just the hunt alone would be worth it!
