Mr. Bill,
I think your right, If a new model was to come out a slightly different Goldtrax version or setup may be the best approach simply because it covers a wide range of detecting needs and is more user friendly over the Cointrax.
It wasn't until this year I finally learned most of the features on the Goldtrax, Jbird planted the curious bug in me a while back when he asked if I had used the GB Noise and Ground Smoothing (Noise reduction ) feature and the Ground Auto-Tune (GB Mode) feature which increases the recovery speed...Up until then, I only new how to increase the all-metal sensitivity and a few other simple features, After learning the Ground smoothing feature and Ground Auto-tune feature it opened up a whole new window of opportunity.
Now, Going with the Cointrax it wasn't until last year I mastered most of the features including the all-metal adjustable staccato feature. What a fantastic feature this is and in fact the Cointrax all-metal staccato disc feature is a bit more sensitive than the Goldtrax all-metal feature in mild/fair ground, In tougher ground then the Goldtrax takes over and with the added DD coil helps it even more for harsh soil conditions.
Yes, A different Goldtrax version and setup just may be a the unit for those new users starting off on a baron.
