Hi Rich
Thank you for jumping in, and adding a manufactures prospective on things. It’s not my like’s or dis-like’s, it was just an opinion I have on it all.
With out getting into nitty gritty because it’s a moot point as far as Discovery goes, but I’m quite sure one could find the pot’s & switches on a smaller quantity than 5000. Also smaller one’s.
Rich, I had never noticed that the SST was in a slightly smaller case, (-.5”) than the Millennium case, until you mentioned them being a C-Scope product.
The SST if the boards are available, can be installed in generic cases. The SST is a very good working detector, and sales could be developed for it better than what it has been.
From what your saying about the European markets being closed to Discovery because of the lead issues, doesn’t stop them from using it in the US. I’m sure in time it will.
Our market could use search loops. That product is not such a cost of material problem, as the needed materials are not that expensive. It is a labor intensive product though. Having on hand a dozen or so 5.5” & 6X9 DD coils would not be a hard thing to do. I doubt there would be any objection to pricing, availability is the question.
Have a nice day
Bill
