Being pretty inexperienced, I've had trouble with differentiating between pull tabs and gold with other detectors.
I played with my newly installed 2.2 today. I set the motion standard discrimination at 43 with audio off, rejecting iron and smaller foil. The I set the hardware discrimination knob at full clockwise. With these settings I get a pretty evenly split alternating low tone and high tone on nickels and gold rings, even smaller ones. A pull tab give a much shorter low tone. All coins including pennies give a solid high tone.
The is only air testing but I did go out and find a few coins in a very short time (cold here). It sure makes me more confident of what I might be digging up than with other detectors I've tried.
Has anyone else tried a similar setup or had more success with something different?
Thanks folks!
