What's your all metal set at? Mine's set to give staccato on iron and foil. Around 43 if I remember correctly. When I get something in motion mode that sounds to be in the pull tab-gold range I switch to all metal and listen for staccato. Tin can lids fall into that range also. If it's a clean signal I dig.
So far I haven't been digging any trash. I've swung this thing about 30 minutes in my backyard and found 4 pennies (1 wheat), a clad dime, and a brass buckle. That's more than I've found spending hours with other detectors getting a headache from the noise and digging up trash.
I don't know much about detectors but I'm thoroughly impressed by this one. I live in old cowboy country, very sparsely populated. I can't wait to hit some of the ghost towns and country schools. According to the landowners, some of them have never had a detector over them.
