The Prohunter manual states:
GND/SALT TOGGLE: Set to GND, the motion mode will be adjusted for the mineralized soil that the no motion all metal mode is balanced to. If the GND control is set for salt, the GND/SALT must be set to SALT.
George posted, either on this forum or Carls forum, that the disc mode ground balance on the Prohunter tracks the manual balance slightly but not fully, which means the disc mode ground balance most likely will be, or could be, way off when hunting in saltwater conditions in disc mode. The Ground/Salt Switch is to compensate when the disc mode ground balance is off when hunting in those conditions, probably only by adding resistance to make the ground balance more positive when the switch is in the SALT position. The switch has no effect on the other Baron models.
