.............beaches are empty and had a sunny day off so I decided to try my Baron SST on the beach. I put the sensitivity into the deep mode and set the discriminator up to the first marked segment. I found lot of deeply buried clad, rusted clad, black clad..........obviously these were all missed. I ventured out into the wet sand areas ( medium mineralized /salt matrix) and SST still worked ok....found some deep clad there too. I'm really looking forward to my vacation this summer, I'll be hunting those southern California beaches with gusto.( Gusto in this case is my Baron SST).Another interesting thing I have found is that the Diehard (Sears) batteries seem to last the longest??? I've tried all of the different types of alkaline but the Sears 9 Volt Alkalines last longest. They are always on special at K Mart, recently they had a buy 4 get 4 free promotion......that's when i stock up. I've got quite a few of them in the fridge right now. They may have a slightly different discharge rate, who cares if they work so well I'll just keep buying them. Cheers!!!
