You posted a good example of those that don't really detect, and someone that does, and know's what their doing. 
I'm glad to read someone is getting out detecting. It's been raining all week with temps. in the 30's / 40's. It may be time to head into sunny parts of the country for a couple of weeks of sucking up the warmth.
